Required Safety Equipment

It is a requirement of the Bayside Off-Roaders Club Inc. that all members complete and sign the Required Safety Equipment form before they participate in any club activity which requires the use of a four wheel drive vehicle.

Members that have more than one four wheel drive vehicle and wish to have all their vehicles registered with their membership must carry the required safety equipment in any registered vehicle used to participate in any four wheel drive club activity.

Club members that own more than one vehicle are also required to complete a separate Required Safety Equipment form for each vehicle. A new form is to be completed when a member changes vehicles.

The following safety equipment is required to be carried in each club members’ vehicles when on any club trip that requires the use of a four wheel drive vehicle:

  • Suitable Front Recovery Point
  • Suitable Rear Recovery Point
  • Serviceable Snatch Strap
  • 2 X Rated Bow or “D” Shackles
  • First Aid Kit
  • UHF Radio
  • Airbrake
  • Fire Extinguisher

The following is suggested equipment that can be carried so as to complement the above required equipment.

  • Shovel
  • Jack Base plate
  • Gloves

If any club member requires advice on any item listed above they should contact any one of the club’s Technical Officers as listed on the Club website. Maintenance of the above required equipment remains the responsibility of the owner.
