Cobb & Co Nine Mile
The weekend started early on Friday with an almost two hour drive north of Brisbane to Nine Mile Cobb & Co. The camp ground had something for everyone, clean toilets; hot showers; cabins; a billabong; BMX track for the kids; farm animals and local kangaroo wildlife. By Friday afternoon seven club vehicles had arrived and set up camp. Graeme and Perry were the last to arrive on Friday and found themselves stuck in a very deep ditch (read ‘shallow’) when arriving at the campsite. The eighth vehicle arrived on Saturday morning. The weekend was enjoyed with our newest Club members Paul, Wendy and Chloe Charlesworth and Helen Renn.
On Saturday afternoon we ventured out for a drive around Mothar Mountain, up to the Telstra tower at the top of Boulder Mountain , a lookout with a view of the Glasshouse Mountains for afternoon tea and a visit to the rock pools at Woondum National Park. On Sunday Graeme, Perry, Barb and Chris and I went for another drive to check out Kin Kin with a visit to the pub for morning tea and a wander down the main street and little gift shops. Then it was onto Boreen Point with a stop for lunch at the Apollonian Hotel and then onto the Mount Tinbeerwah lookout. The lookout was an easy stroll providing views over the hinterland and Glasshouse Mountains, Boreen Point, Teewah, Double Island Point, Noosa and Fraser Island in the distance.
The weekend was relaxing with campfire chats and lazy drives in a great location.
