2021 Christmas Camp
6 – 7 November 2021.
A very Merry Barney Creek Christmas Weekend Trip Report
You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
We’re telling you why
the Bayside Off-roaders Christmas party was out of town.
O Come All Ye Faithful, joyful and triumphant
O come ye, o come ye to Barney Creek Winery (the Barn)
O come and check it out, it’s so worth the visit, only two hours from town.
The Barn was a great location to lay down our sweet heads
The rain hid the stars but didn’t dampen our spirits
Talking of spirits (alcohol) it was a great place to stock up
on the necessary wine and port needed to encourage
Santa to leave more gifts in December.
Then one damp and rainy Christmas party
Andy Claus came to say
“Murray and Stu, with your headlights so bright
Won’t you guide our drives today?”
Then how the club members loved them
As they shouted out with glee
“A trip to Queen Mary Falls, or the Barney Lookout
will go down in history”.
Dashing through the rain
In a tray back open Nissan,
What fun it is to ride and sing
A 4WDing song tonight, oh!
Andy Claus, Andy Claus,
Andy (and Andrew) all the way
Oh what fun it is to see the eight children’s smiling faces.
Who feeds the club members all their ‘horse-dervs’?
Who wraps the gifts and packs the sleight?
Who worked hard to make this very day so special?
Barb V Claus and Barb T Claus of course. Thank you!
It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas
With food laid out buffet style
Club members contributing their finest fair to share
Sure, it’s Christmas once more.
We wish you a merry Christmas
Oh, bring us some dessert pudding
We didn’t leave until we had our fill
Good tidings we bring to you and your kin
We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,
“Nathan Wrice is the club member of the year!”
for Always roasting us like chestnuts on an open fire.
Always 4WDing would be Christmas Every Day.
And so we’re offering this simple phrase
To members from one to ninetytwo
Although it’s been said many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you.
….Only 12 Christmas Carols were injured in the writing of this trip report….
Blame Louise Watson for this!
